Cambridge’s Learning and Activity Center
MULTI SPORTS
Multi sports will provide a different sport each trimester. Floor ball, swimming and varied sports games will be coached throughout the school year. This will give our pupils and students a variety of sports to try. The advantage of multi sports is exactly the variety of introduction and exposure to a wide variety of individual and team sports.
Sports activities include:
- Football
- Basketball
- Volleyball
- Floor-ball
- Tennis
- Swimming
- Ice-skating
- Skiing
- Golf
- Canoeing
- Martial arts
FOOTBALL
The football club will give both boys and girls the opportunity to develop their football skills in both the club and in games against other schools. There is an extensive coaching staff that has experience at the professional level as players and coaching, and also within US college soccer, both male and female. Skills such as technical ability, tactical awareness, fitness and sense of team spirit will be developed to build a club and both boys and girls football teams the school can be very proud of.
MUSIC
Music plays a central role in the Forel community. We aim for all pupils to have the opportunity to make the most of whatever musical aspirations they may have, by exposing them to good music-making and giving them the opportunity to learn instruments and take part in concerts and events. Music club members learn about and experience more advanced musical repertoire than would normally be taught in the regular music class. The music club will produce an annual concert alongside the singing club each December. There will also be other occasions where our students will have the opportunity to showcase their musical talents throughout the year.
DRAMA CLUB
The drama club is designed to create a bigger interest within the school for drama by promoting the happenings of the theatre and by putting on performances. This club meets once a week and allows students to realise their own ideas through investigation and improvisation, as well as introducing them to aspects of Drama they may not otherwise encounter, such as physical theatre or mask work. The club represents an ideal opportunity for students to gain confidence and social skills in an interactive environment. The drama club is the perfect place for aspiring actors and actresses to hone their acting. If acting, singing and dancing aren't your thing, there are plenty of behind-the-scenes opportunities to get involved in, like directing, building sets, making costumes, helping the stage crew, and fundraising. Drama pupils will benefit from taking part and having leading roles in the whole school planned annual production in June.
SINGING
The Singing Club is a club for all students who love to sing, love music and who just want to have a great time! In Singing Club we will separate into temporary smaller groups and work on songs for performance, or just for the fun of singing. We will be very experimental with choosing pieces involving both instrument and voice or just for voice alone. We are not about competition. If you think you can’t sing or are shy, let us convince you you can and we will teach you! The singing club will produce an annual concert alongside the music club each December. There will also be other occasions where our students will have the opportunity to showcase their vocal talents throughout the year.
